Originally learnt with Patrick Shier (of Sport Diver fame) and owe him for being completely hooked on diving now. As a result, if I was ever to be divorced I believe Patrick would be cited, by my long suffering wife, as getting me into diving! (http://www.exclusivelyscuba.co.uk)

Would love to do some cold water diving and am hoping to do Trondhiem, Norway later this year. I have to say that 3oC water temperature at Polaris, Kent on December 29th was pretty cold!

Return from Waikiki Bay
I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to visit Hawaii in November. In advance of the trip I made contact with Waikii Diving, a Captain Nick Fieldbuss no less. They were very helpful and ran a good and friendly operation.
I did a three day Padi rescue course and around four more days diving with them and can thoroughly recommend them. (Captain Nicks e-mail is divinhawaii@hawaii.rr.com)

I survived getting wrecked with Sussex Scuba!

I have to say that I think I have now found my favorite PADI specialty. I have just completed my wreck specialty and thoroughly enjoyed the weekend doing it at Stoney Cove.

Having previously dived the Stangarth several times, all I remember of it was this tug at 20m. Now….. I have to say I know it inside out, all the entry / exit points, bolt holes et all. Fantastic weekend, made al the better by Denise Lancasters excellent style of “free thinking” teaching. Thanks Sussex Scuba.

Just about to go off up to Stoney Cove for a weekend on the Stangarth! Yep, doing the PADI wreck course with Sussex Scuba and will report back when done.

Cannon G10

Just recently up-graded my camera from the Sony T200 to the Cannon G10. What a fantastic camera the G10 is. My Farne Island shots were with the G10 and I recently did the Digital underwater course with Maria Munn. If you are wishing to improve your photography and would like some excellent one-to-one tuition, you should book onto Marias course. First class. (www.oceanvisions.co.uk )

Return from the Farne Islands

Just recently been up to the Farne Islands on a trip with Sussex Scuba. Derek & Denise organize good trips away and made for a very enjoyable weekend.

Had some very good dives and, yes, saw plenty of seals, all of which like to have a bit of fun nibbling fins etc.
Water was a bit cold for non dry suiters and whilst I had my dry suit with me, chose to go semi dry.

Can thoroughly recommend the Farne Island for an enjoyable weekends worth of divining.
